Q.
How do we start Repairs?
- It is necessary to appoint a structural Consultant for
repairs. He does the physical examination and testing of
the structures is first done and weak spot /areas are identified.
- Consultant prepares and estimates the cost by preparing
bill of quantities of various items/area of repairs.

Q. What are the
steps followed in Concrete / Masonry Repairs?
- Defective ( Cracked ) portion of concrete
or plaster has to be removed.
- During repairs, columns, beams must
be supported to reduce load on this members.
- Remove all rust from steel bars.
- Wash & clean the entire surface
before taking up repairs.
- If masonry is in bad condition it should
be replaced.
The repaired surface must be scratched and
roughened to give mechanical
bond with subsequent finishing coats of mortar
or plaster.
The repair surface should be cured for 7 days.
